145 Acres of Wetlands and Woods Protected Near Bear Swamp Creek!

The Land Trust acquired 145 acres of woodland, fields, and wetlands bordering Bear Swamp Creek – the largest tributary to Skaneateles Lake. The property been identified as a priority for protection due to its frontage on the creek, the quality of its natural habitat, its value to the health of Skaneateles Lake, and its proximity to existing protected lands. See the Story.

Emerald Necklace Grows with Addition to Robinson Hollow State Forest 

The Land Trust was just given 28 acres in the town of Richford, Tioga County, with the understanding that the land will be conveyed to New York State as an addition to Robinson Hollow State Forest. Protection of the property safeguards the West Branch of Owego Creek, a high quality brook trout steam. See the Story.

Growing the Network of Conserved Lands in Yates County

High Tor Wildlife Management Area in the town of Italy, Yates County has gained another 72 acres thanks to a partnership between the Land Trust and New York State.  High Tor is a popular recreational area marked by extensive and largely unfragmented forests that blanket the steep hills, gullies and eroded cliffs carved by glaciers.
