Description

Join Land Trust staff and volunteers on the first Friday of every month, from May through October, for nature preserve management activities and socializing.  Help is needed with a variety of trail building, maintenance, clean-up, and more. Work sessions will be held from 2:00-4:30 pm, followed by a social hour from 4:30-5:30. Tools, work gloves, light refreshments, and snacks will be provided!

The Bahar Nature Preserve is well known by many in the Skaneateles Lake area but the majority of visitors only hike the white trail (a.k.a. the “Jug Trail”).  The Land Trust has an additional parking area and trailhead located past the Carpenter Falls State Unique Area, and your help is needed to help remove fallen trees, stabilize two creek crossings, and to refresh paint blazes.  Join us to help spruce up the red trail and enjoy a wonderful forest full of towering hemlocks!

Directions

From Skaneateles, follow Rt. 41A south for 10.5 miles; turn left (east) on Appletree Point Rd. and follow for 1.6 miles to parking area, on left.

**PLEASE NOTE that we will be meeting at the FLLT owned parking area, on Appletree Point Rd., past the STOP sign near Carpenter Falls.
