The Hinchcliff Family Preserve overlooking Skaneateles Lake in the town of Spafford, Onondaga County, is temporarily closed due to recent storm damage.

Heavy rains carved deep cuts into Covey Road—the laneway leading into the preserve—making it dangerous to drive. The Town has officially closed the road until repairs can be made. Additionally, one of two bridges on the preserve’s 1.4-mile loop trail was destroyed, and the other substantially damaged.
