Description

Join staff and volunteers on the first Friday of every month for nature preserve management activities and socializing. If you are looking for a good reason to take off a half day on a Friday, this is it! Work sessions will be held from 2:00-4:30 pm, followed by a social hour from 4:30-5:30. Tools, work gloves, light refreshments and snacks will be provided.

The Houghton Land Preserve was donated by James and Maisie Houghton in 2016, and it has quickly become one of our most popular preserves.  Your help is needed to complete a project to repair drainage and erosion issues along the trails.

Directions

From Rte 352/Denison Parkway in downtown Corning, turn south onto Chemung Street. Take Chemung Street to Spencer Hill Road and drive about 2 miles to the preserve entrance on your right. From Corning Community College, take Marland Road and continue on Spencer Hill Road toward downtown Corning. Drive about 1/4 mile to the preserve entrance on your left.
