Emerald Necklace Grows Through Land Purchase in Southern Tompkins County

The Land Trust has acquired 158 forested acres in southern Tompkins County, within the Emerald Necklace. Approximately 70 acres of the property will be added to the Land Trust’s existing 200-acre Charles Spencer Nature PreserveSee the Story

Join Us for Camino de Cayuga — a Benefit for the Land Trust!

Toro Run Winery is hosting a “hike & taste” event to benefit the Land Trust. Join us for Camino de Cayuga and hike from Toro Run to the Land Trust’s VanRiper Conservation Area and enjoy wine and food tastings along the way.  A Brazilian BBQ and live music by Seneca Jam will begin at 12:00 pm. Land Trust Receives State Funding to Protect Water Quality in the Southern Tier

The Land Trust has been awarded $124,212 in grant funding through the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Chesapeake Bay Watershed Program.  The grant funding will be used to permanently protect 69 acres and over 18,000 feet of streamside buffers on three unique properties.  Read the Story
